Quality Assurance
Quality is the main focus area of the company.
It is being ensured at each step from the raw material to the finished
products.
The plant is having modern testing facilities to ensure that the products meet stringent quality standards.
High level of automation and continuous monitoring in the process helps make best quality deformed bars.
Steel Mill and Manufacturing Process
Our steel manufacturing process begins in the melt shop with melting of scrap metal in the Furnaces. The molten steel
after enhanced adjustments in chemical compositions is poured into ladle and brought to continuous casting floor. Once
at height, the ladle is gently maneuvered into place and nested onto a receiving cradle of Ladle Turret, whose twin is
located 180 degrees opposite and has been emptying its contents as the fresh ladle is hoisted into place.
When the ladle being cast has been emptied and the ladle with the fresh steel charge is in place, the ladles’ positions are
switched by a large pivoting turret mechanism. The empty ladle is then lowered to the ground floor for a return trip to
the melt shop and re-charging with steel. The full ladle, now in position, is opened over the tundish – a large refractory
lined receptacle that receives the molten steel – and begins the process of forming the two vertical strands that will
become steel billets as they solidify.
The caster uses an optimized tundish design for cleanliness and the advanced
operating technology which includes automation by Siemens PLC S7 1500, multiple radius for increasing the casting
speed and improving surface quality of cast strand, hydraulically pressurized withdrawal machine, VVF A.C. drives for
withdrawal Straightener, Hydraulic diagonal billet shear for cutting the billets, Secondary (spray)water automation, billet
turn table for direct rolling of billets in to bar mill.
The hot rolling process begins by direct rolling of billets or reheating the previously created billets in our reheat furnace.
The billets enter rolling mill which consists of a series of stands, each containing a set of rollers that compress and
lengthen the billets and then finish them into the high strength TMT reinforced bars after being processed through QST
system. Constant Water flow is used to keep the equipment from overheating. The formed product is transferred to the
cooling bed where it is allowed to cool before it is cut and bundled. The final bundled product is stored in our warehouse
and/or prepared for shipping. Most products are delivered as straight bars, however reinforcing bar can also be delivered as
bend bundles.
