Where is the PT. Universal Steelindo Dinamika plant located?
The plant is at Jl. Desa Wonosari, Kel. Wonosari, Kec. Ngoro, Kab. Mojokerto, East Java. It sits close to major highways and to the sea port.
What is the annual production capacity?
The estimated annual capacity is 200,000 MT. The plant was established in 2014 and occupies more than 11 acres.
What steel products does USD manufacture?
Three product lines: steel billets, deformed bars (rebar) and round bars. Mechanical and chemical composition for each is published on the composition page.
Where can I find bar diameters, section area and weight per metre?
Each product page lists designation, nominal diameter in millimetres, nominal section area in square centimetres and unit weight in kilograms per metre for every size.
What manufacturing technology is used?
Scrap is melted in furnaces, then cast on a continuous casting machine automated with a Siemens PLC S7 1500, using an optimised tundish design and hydraulic billet shear. Billets are rolled on a high speed rolling mill and finished through a QST system.
Can USD bars be bent and welded on site?
Yes. USD bars have superior bendability and can be bent without cracking, and they are safely weldable under field conditions. Avoiding large splices can save 0.5% to 1.5% of steel.
How are the bars delivered?
Most products are delivered as straight bars. Reinforcing bar can also be delivered as bend bundles. Finished bundles are stored in the plant warehouse before shipping.
